Look At This, It's a Live Blog...

As I am sitting here in the Red McCombs Ford dealership I am asking myself, "with a 2024, why am I even having to come down here as much as I am?" Lumbar support... front bumper issues... delays in window tinting, delays in repairs and diagnostics... The list is getting longer and longer.

But it isn't the issues I am having is not with Elsa. It is actually more with the dealership. I like most of the front office staff that I have come into contact with have been fine. The real issue is the TIME BURDEN. Why is it that it takes "all day" to run a diagnostic on a car? Especially a 2024... Like, can't a machine just be plugged into the OBD connection and a diagnostic.

So, I spoke to my rep tech... tech rep... liaison person. The person between the person running the diagnostic and me. Nice enough lady. She explained to me that it is a specialized technician that runs the diagnostic. Oh, like the same type of "specialized" tech that installed my tint? A tint tech? That messed up my tint? That kind of specialized tech (lame face emoji).

I don't mind sitting around. I don't mind waiting. I don't mind not having Elsa for a couple days. And I don't claim to know how it works behind the curtain, but I do know that when you keep someone informed of what is going on it can make everyone's life a little easier.

But I don't know. Maybe there needs to be some changes made in how the service part of the dealership operates. I speak from a place of history in interaction with the dealership throughout the entire buying process. You don't know how to unlock and lock the car without using the fob? Where is the hood latch release...? Oh, I have to find it myself. Deck lid trunk release button (the button on the actual trunk)? Don't worry, I'll find that myself, too. It is clear you don't know your new inventory. Oh, and while your at it... why don't you brush up on some history of, I don't know, only THE MOST ICONIC CAR IN THE HISTORY OF THE AUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY.

Stay TUNED

Mike and Elsa
